I wrote this song about two years after we moved from Chicago to the Twin Cities. It started out as a call to see appreciation and show recognition in those around us in our every day lives. More than that, though, it serves as a reminder to me to do the same for myself. Self love can be incredibly difficult and I don't believe you can really free yourself to show outbound love if there's no inbound love to back it up.
